SPATIO emerged as a way of imagining, testing, and realising architectural atmospheres around a decade ago, with the design of the SPATIO House.
This unique residence in the Adelaide Hills was published in Architecture Australia (July/August 2003) for its “considered interpolation of elements within the context of a loose idea”, and its careful attention to a very complex program and site.
SPATIO was formally launched as a practice in July 2009, as an extension of the research and groundwork undertaken by Aukland Architecture, and it exists now as a sustained and rigorous enquiry into the possibilities of built and imagined form.
SPATIO is an atmosphere that extends on both the realised and the possible. |
